Dave Cunningham is a woodworker.  He crafts, among other things, high dollar wooden trains.  Just like his extraordinary and delicately carved wooden train, this is his extraordinary and intricately built Victorian dream home.

Duane and Kathy McIntyre hired Cunningham to build their Cape Cod style farmhouse in Christiansburg several years ago. “Since he built it, he has never had to come back for anything,” McIntyre said.  “That speaks volumes about any contractor.  He takes the extra steps.”  (Roanoke Times, Current, July 11, 2004)

The 7000 sqft Victorian mansion Cunningham built as his personal residence is the first of many homes he would build in Christiansburg and the surrounding area with his one man operation, Cunningham Contracting, along with his hired help.

Cunningham utilized walnut trees felled from his great grandfather’s Tennessee farm to provide the stately dark wood ambience throughout the home.  The home features ¾” custom designed solid walnut wainscoting and crown molding. But this isn’t the only unique styling he’s utilized!  You’ll also find Turkish tile and the occasional gold fixture.
